The birth certificate of Richard in 1891 gives his mother as Elizabeth BELL but on the census returns for 1891 and 1901 it is Isabella. No marriage has been found for William and Elizabeth BELL and the only marriage for William BRAY of a suitable date is to Isabella LIDDELL. Probably a nervous bride giving her name as Isabella was misheard as Eliza BELL.
