Ann Maria HALL [1197] (known as 'Ria'), daughter of Thomas Henry HALL (1861-1927) [1221] and Jemima Elizabeth ELLARD (1863-1906) [1222], was born on 18 December 1890 in Birmingham, Warwickshire. She appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 at Hampton St. 20 Court 4 House in Birmingham. Ann Maria HALL 3 months old from Birmingham was with her parents. Ria appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 at 10 Bk 98 Gt Hampton St in Birmingham. Maria HALL 10 was at School and from Birmingham. She was living with her grandmother Sarah HALL and father. Ria married John George PRATT [1196] on 27 September 1908 at SS Peter & Paul Church in Aston, Warwickshire. She died of Broncho Pneumonia on 26 December 1955 in Birmingham. Then known as Ann Maria PRATTshe was living at 254 Frederick Rd, B'ham 6 and the wife of John George PRATT, a Dispatch Clerk, who was the informant.

 

Her name was pronounced Ma'rye'ha and known as Rya to her nephews and nieces.

 

John George PRATT [1196], son of George Guy PRATT (1860-1893) [1214] and Kate CHAMBERS (1859- ) [1215], was born on 10 January 1890 in Birmingham. He appeared in the census on 5 April 1891 at 3 Ct Hse 8 Pritchett St. in Birmingham. John PRATT 1 from Birmingham was living with parents. John appeared in the census on 31 March 1901 at 140 William St., Aston Manor in Aston. Jack PRATT 11 from Birmingham was with his mother and stepfather. John served in the 3rd South Staffordshire Regiment and the Labour Corp from 1914 to 1920. He was awarded the British War medal and Victory medal. John died on 12 October 1971 in Aston.

John George could and did play many stringed instruments his favourite being a banjo ukulele sadly he did not often use his musical skills in the home. He apparently also had a good singing voice. The children were encouraged to use any artistic skills. One brother was even allowed to practice drawing and painting on the inside of cupboard doors.

 

John George PRATT and Ann Maria HALL had the following children:

 

John George PRATT (1909-1994) [1199] (known as 'Jack'). Jack was born on 3 February 1909 in Birmingham. He married Hilda <PRATT> [1200] before 1942. He married Rose <PRATT> [1204] . He died on 5 July 1994 in Birmingham.

Violet K. PRATT (1911-1911) [1198]. Violet was born in June 1911 in Birmingham. She died in June 1911 in Birmingham.

Kate Beatrice PRATT (1913-1977) [1205]. Kate was born on 6 April 1913 in Birmingham. To 19 June 1977 she was resident at 19, High Street, Codicote in Codicote, Hertfordshire. She married Charlie SPARROW [1206] . She died on 19 June 1977 in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. She was buried on 24 June 1977.

Harold Leslie PRATT (1914-bef1973) [1208]. Harold was born Q2 1914 in Birmingham. He died before 1973.

Daisy May PRATT (1915-2003) [909]. Daisy was born on 1 August 1915 in Birmingham. She was baptised in 1921 (approx.) in Aston. She married Edward Marshall JOHNSON [896] on 21 September 1940 at All Saints, Albert Road in Stechford, Birmingham. After 1976 she was resident at 21 Rye Close, Nth Walsham, Norfolk NR28 9EY in North Walsham, Norfolk. She died of Stomach Cancer on 5 December 2003 in North Walsham. Memorial Service on 11 December 2003 in North Walsham. Celebration of the life of Daisy May Johnson taken by Mjr Neville. Daisy was cremated on 11 December 2003 in St Faith, Norfolk. She was buried on 19 February 2004 in North Walsham.

Herbert PRATT (1916-1984) [1209]. Herbert was born on 20 June 1916 in Birmingham. He married Edna <PRATT> [1210] . He died on 3 October 1984 in Birmingham.

Norman PRATT (1919- ) [1212]. Norman was born in December 1919 in Birmingham.

Horace PRATT (1920-2005) [1213]. Horace was born on 12 August 1920 in Birmingham. He served in the RAF as a driver. He took part in the second World War in North Africa. He married Margory Gladys TURNER [1764] on 19 January 1945. He died on 2 October 2005 in Birmingham District, Warwickshire. He was buried on 13 October 2005 in Birmingham.

Charles J PRATT (1921-2000) [1228]. Charles was born on 14 September 1921 in Birmingham. He married Jessie <PRATT> [1765] . He died in August 2000.

Phillip PRATT (1922- ) [1229]. Phillip was born in December 1922 in Birmingham.

Sidney PRATT (1925-1993) [1230]. Sidney was born in June 1925 in Birmingham. He died on 23 April 1993 in Birmingham.

George PRATT (1926-1926) [1232]. George was born in September 1926 in Birmingham. He died on 4 December 1926 in Aston.

Stanley PRATT (1929-2006) [1231]. Stanley was born in March 1929 in Birmingham. He died in March 2006 in Birmingham District. He was buried on 15 March 2006 in Witton, Birmingham.
