The Coroner's Inquest held 8th Decemeber 1887 gave a verdict of accidental death. He had fallen downstairs and fractured several of his ribs, injuries from which he died.

Ann Maria's father was given as William STANFIELD a caster. The witnesses were Thomas and Lydia MILLWARD. Lydia was Edward's sister and their parents, from the parish registers, were Thomas and Tabatha.
