High Meeting House Henry McMULLIN 31 was a Bachelor Sergeant in the 91st Regiment of Foot living in the Barracks, Berwick upon Tweed. His father, James McMULLIN, was a Shoemaker. He married Catherine SHARP 22 who was a Spinster Domestic Servant living in Woolmarket, Berwick upon Tweed. Her age was actually 18 but probably gave her age as 22 to avoid the need for parent's consent. She was using the surname of the family who brought her up. No father's name was given. The Minister, James A Miller, performed the ceremony according to the rites and ceremonies of the Church of Scotland. The registrar, George Turner was also present and George and Jane WILSON witnessed the marriage. |
